Homemade Ranch Dressing

Homemade Ranch Dressing was the answer when we started to eat more clean. Every ranch dressing from the grocery store has so many unnecessary ingredients. I tried so many recipes, but we never could find the right ratio of ingredients… They were always too runny or not flavorful enough…. until now! This recipe is so simple to make with many staples we had available in our home. My family loves our ranch dressing for salads, to dip nuggets into, or to throw on breakfast burritos. It has received two thumbs up and a “way better than the store ranch” compliment.

It is so quick to make too! I just measure out all the ingredients into a mason jar, add a pourable lid on it, shake it up and its ready to go! It does get better if it has a chance to sit and meld together first though. Either way, we are not disappointed and we hope you enjoy it as well!

This dressing is perfect to top a steak salad! Pair your favorite salad with our sous vide steak and our ranch dressing!

Ingredients

  • 1 cup 1 mayonnaise

  • 1/2 cup 1/2 sour cream

  • 2 teaspoons 2 dried parsley

  • 2 teaspoons 2 lemon juice

  • 1 teaspoon 1 dried chives

  • 1 teaspoon 1 dried dill

  • 1/2 teaspoon 1/2 garlic powder

  • 1/2 teaspoon 1/2 onion powder

  • 1/2 teaspoon 1/2 kosher sea salt

  • 1/4-1/2 cup 1/4-1/2 whole milk (as needed)

Directions

  • Measure all ingredients into your pint jar.
Secure the lid tightly and shake/mix the ingredients.
  • Add milk to your mixture to reach desired consistency. (see notes)
    Shake again to mix well.
  • Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, if possible.
    Store in the refrigerator.

Notes

  • Sometimes I add more milk the next time I use the ranch because it is still too thick after being in the fridge. Feel free to play with it until you find your perfect thickness.
  • If you don’t have a mason jar and lid to mix this, you can definitely use a bowl and whisk! I just find it super simple to mix it in the container I’m storing it in for less clean up!
