Trying to find a homemade Italian sausage recipe can be tricky for your family. Everyone’s tastes and expectations are a little different. Here is the recipe we use for our family. Feel free to use it as is or tweak it to your liking. Some people enjoy a spicier sausage, some enjoy a sweeter sausage. The pork is your canvas, try different things until you find something you love!

This homemade Italian sausage recipe is quick and with simple ingredients! You can easily customize it to your and your family’s tastes!

Ingredients

  • 1 pound 1 ground pork

  • 1 teaspoon 1 dried parsley

  • 1 teaspoon 1 paprika

  • 1/2 teaspoon 1/2 dried oregano

  • 1/2 teaspoon 1/2 basil

  • 1/2 teaspoon 1/2 fennel seeds

  • 1/2 teaspoon 1/2 garlic powder

  • 1/2 teaspoon 1/2 kosher sea salt

  • 1/4 teaspoon 1/4 dried rosemary

  • 1/8 teaspoon 1/8 dried thyme

  • 1/8 teaspoon 1/8 black pepper

Directions

  • Combine all the ingredients in a bowl and mix well.
    Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours or up to 24 hours.
  • Brown on a skillet and use as usual for your recipe.

Notes

  • Feel free to change the recipe up to fit your tastes! Some ideas include red pepper flakes, brown sugar, or cayenne!
