Butter Compound

Butter compound is often found served on steak at upper scale restaurants. We wanted to try to improve the steaks we made at home and thought we would try adding a butter compound. Let me tell you, it made them REALLY good and more flavorful! Now it is a staple in our home whenever we make steak!

Give it a try to make your meal better! These are the spices we enjoy on it, but you can definitely tweak it to whatever spices you fancy!

Ingredients

  • 4 tablespoons 4 salted butter, room temperature

  • 1 teaspoon 1 parsley

  • 1 teaspoon 1 minced garlic

  • 1/2 teaspoon 1/2 rosemary

  • 1/2 teaspoon 1/2 salt

  • 1/2 teaspoon 1/2 pepper

  • 1/2 teaspoon 1/2 Worcestershire sauce

Directions

  • Put all ingredients into a bowl and mix well.
  • When steak is done, top each steak with 1 tablespoon of butter compound.
  • Place any extra compound in the refrigerator to use for next time.

Notes

  • You can use fresh or dried herbs, both work well!
  • Often, I double the recipe and just keep the extras in the fridge and keep it on hand.
  • We love to use this on our sous vide steak after we sear it.
