White bread made in the bread machine is a staple in our house! It is light, fluffy and delicious. It works well for toast, french toast, cinnamon toast, sandwiches and more!

We haven’t purchased bread from the store in over 2 years! Our family absolutely loves our bread machine from Zojirushi! It has done consistent job and is still going strong after making at least 2 loaves a week. This bread machine wonderfully makes bread and dough for bread, rolls, cinnamon rolls, pizza crust, and so much more! This great kitchen tool has allowed our family to quickly and easily prepare food for our family with clean ingredients! You won’t regret making your own bread machine white bread and you will enjoy the scent of fresh baked bread every time! (I think the fresh baked bread scent even helped our home sell in AZ haha!)

A food scale is incredibly helpful in the kitchen. I am a “lazy” cook and baker, so a food scale helped me know that I was measuring correctly (especially with bread) and that my end product would still be great without measuring errors! I really like this food scale and it is very reasonably priced! I’ve often purchased the warehouse used ones and they have been perfectly fine as well!

Ingredients

  • 245 mililiter 245 water

  • 406 grams 406 bread flour

  • 45 grams 45 honey

  • 20 grams 20 dry whole milk

  • 7 grams 7 salt

  • 28 grams 28 butter

  • 4 grams 4 active dry or rapid rise yeast

Directions

  • Add ingredients to the baking pan of your bread machine in the order listed above.
  • Select and start your white bread cycle or custom cycle.
    Rest: 0:18
    Knead: 0:22
    Shape: OFF
    Rise 1: 0:20
    Rise 2: 0:00
    Rise 3: 0:45
    Bake: 1:00
    Keep Warm: OFF
    Total: 2:45
  • Allow bread to cool before cutting.

Notes

  • This recipe is for a 1.5 lb loaf. This is the perfect size for sandwiches. 2 lb loaves were a little large/tall for us and our toaster!
  • You can use more or less honey or substitute sugar to your liking.
  • You can use more or less dry milk. The minimum should be 6 grams.
  • A food scale is very helpful for correct measurements when making bread and baked goods. Check out our equipment for an inexpensive but reliable food scale!
  • I like to throw all the ingredients in at night and start the machine before we go to sleep. The bread bakes and cools overnight and is ready for us to use in the morning for breakfast!
