Cold brew iced tea is super simple. Iced tea is a staple on the homestead. We go through at least half a gallon a day. I found a great method to make iced tea quickly and it still has a great flavor, possibly even better! I do have to warn you, the quality and taste of your tea does depend on your water and tea bags too! Our family invested in an reverse osmosis water filtration system and it reassures us we have quality drinking and cooking water for our family. We used to use Lipton tea bags, but searched for an organic option that didn’t break the bank. We tried a bunch and really like Newman’s Own Organic Black Tea Bags. Check the links below to try!

We hope you give our cold brew iced tea a try and enjoy it! Let us know what you think!

Ingredients

  • 2 bags 2 Newman’s Own Organic Black Tea, Family Size

  • 1/2 gallon 1/2 filtered water

Directions

  • Fill a half gallon mason jar or pitcher with filtered water.
  • Place 2 tea bags in the jar or pitcher.
  • Refrigerate for 6 or more hours.
  • Enjoy over ice.

Notes

  • We usually drink the tea fast and just leave the bags in until we make a new pitcher. You can take them out if you don’t want it to get stronger or you won’t be drinking it within a day.
  • You can use this method with other your favorite tea bag. Just ensure you have enough tea to water as instructed on your tea.
