Ingredients

  • Cinnamon Roll Dough
  • 1 cup 1 whole milk (240 ml)

  • 2 2 eggs, whisked

  • 4-1/2 cups 4-1/2 all-purpose flour (540 grams)

  • 1/2 cup 1/2 sugar (100 grams)

  • 1 teaspoon 1 kosher sea salt (7 grams)

  • 1/3 cup 1/3 butter (76 grams)

  • 2-1/2 teaspoons 2-1/2 active dry or instant yeast (7 grams)

  • Cinnamon Roll Filling
  • 3/4 cup 3/4 brown sugar

  • 2 tablespoons 2 ground cinnamon

  • 1/3 cup 1/3 butter, softened

  • Cinnamon Roll Icing
  • 1/2 cup 1/2 butter, softened

  • 2 cups 2 powdered sugar

  • 1 tablespoon 1 vanilla extract

  • 1-2 tablespoons 1-2 heavy cream, to reach desired consistency

Directions

  • Put all dough ingredients into your bread machine pan.
If your machine does not warm things to the correct temperature, please ensure your milk is the proper temperature (110F), eggs are room temperature and the butter is melted.
    Run the dough cycle.
  • While the dough is being made, mix the Cinnamon Roll Filling.
  • When the dough cycle has finished, remove the dough and roll out on a lightly floured surface to about a 16×24 rectangle.
Brush softened butter onto the dough.
Sprinkle the brown sugar and cinnamon mixture on top of the butter evenly.
  • Starting on the long end of the dough, roll the dough.
Cut into 12 even rolls. (Try the floss cutting trick for nice cuts!)
Place rolls on a lightly greased 9×13 baking dish.
Cover and let rise for about 30 minutes, until nearly doubled.
  • Preheat oven to 400 degrees F.
  • Bake rolls for 15-20 minutes, check for a light golden brown color.
  • While the Cinnamon Rolls are baking, make your Cinnamon Roll Icing.
With a mixer, beat the butter until fluffy.
    Mix in the powdered sugar.
    Add vanilla extract.
Add heavy cream to reach your desired consistency.
  • When Cinnamon Rolls are done baking, remove from the oven and allow to cool for about 5 minutes before spreading the Icing onto the Cinnamon Rolls.

Notes

  • You can make the dough by hand if you do not have a bread machine.
  • If you prefer cream cheese frosting for your cinnamon rolls, add about 4 ounces of cream cheese to 1/2 the butter and continue from there.
